What gives the present study even greater urgency is the fact that Jesus is seldom thought of in emotional terms. When Christians are asked to list the emotions of Jesus the result often bears only a very imperfect resemblance to his emotions as recorded in the Gospels. Why is this so? Why do those who profess to follow Jesus often have such an imprecise knowledge and understanding of his emotions? Perhaps one reason is the fact that there are relatively few specific references to Jesus’ emotions
